The first day back to school can be fun and exciting, or nerve-wracking and butterfly-in-the-tummy-making. Or, for lots of kids, it’s a bit of both. Help steer the day in the direction of fun and special by leaving a little treat next to their breakfast in the morning. Rushed for time? Throw the whole bag in their lunch box and let them open it in school.
Materials needed: Back To School Treats Template, red pom poms, green paper, small piece of cardboard, glue, scissors, pink card stock, 8″ x 5.25″ glassine bags, stapler.
Step 1: Download and print out the Back To School Treats Template. Cut out the rectangles and fold in half to crease.
Step 2: Fill a glassine bag with treats, stickers, mini toys, etc.
Step 3: Fold the tag over the top of the bag and staple each side to close.
Step 4: Using either hot glue or craft glue, attach a red pom-pom to the top right corner of the tag.
Step 5: Cut out a small leaf shape from green paper, and glue it into the top right side of the pom pom.
Step 6: Cut out a small piece of cardboard in the shape of a stem, and glue it to the top of the pom pom next to the leaf. Let dry.
