WPC Competition 2020 will start in a few days!

The WPC was founded in 2013 as a cooperative effort by the Federation of European Photographers (FEP) and Professional Photographers of America (PPA). After six years of strong global expansion, our one of a kind, olympic styled team competition, has managed to build a solid foundation in our efforts to become one of the world’s leading photographic events, thanks to our dedicated governing committee and colleagues from all over the world. Our goal remains the same as always: to continue creating friendships and uniting professional photographers worldwide.
The next competition (WPC 2020, n.7) will open for team registrations on June 1st 2019. It will possible to upload the pictures from July 1st, up to October 15. The judging phase will be finalized within the first half of December, and the finalists and best of nations authors will be announced once again at Imaging USA, the longest running photographic convention, next year in Nashville, TN, USA, from January 16th to 21st.
As for the WPC annual winners’ awards, you can rest assured that WPC will continue to offer new exciting destinations for its amazing ceremony! After USA, France, Portugal, Japan, Australia and Norway, you will be pleased to know that next year the winners’ announcement will be in Rome, Italy, on March 23rd, 2020!
The WPC ceremony in Rome will be preceded by the FEP European Professional Photographer of the Year Awards celebration, making the whole event even more appealing, on a very global scale.
It has been also decided that the venue for the announcement 2021 will be Guadalajara, Mexico!
After the amazing number of 32 nations entered last year, from five continents, our aim for the next edition is to reach a new best ever record of national teams.
We are constantly on the lookout for new ways to offer all entered teams our most efficient assistance to compete and win. The WPC rules will remain the same, including the six traditional categories (commercial, illustration, nature, portrait, reportage and wedding). However, you will notice a few changes in the portrait and wedding category descriptions, so that to help photographers to make their best possible choices.
The WPC Governing Committee likes to thank once again our instigating associations, our commercial sponsors, and each and every one teams captains and members for their support, and wishes to all national teams best of luck for the next competition.
The World Photographic Cup will continue to deliver and live up to the photographers’ expectations for many years to come. Thank you for supporting the World Photographic Cup!
